Rachel is the co-author of The Happy Book, The Secret Me Book, The You and Me Book, and The Little You, Big Me Book. Rachel wrote them with the talented Meg Leder and they went through a lot of index cards and foil star stickers in the process.
Rachel is currently working on a middle-grade novel and a picture book. She also writes for Madison Living, a monthly magazine.
After dropping out of her Ph.D. program at Brown (it's OK, she would have been a lousy professor), Rachel decided she should work with books. She started as a bookseller at Book Revue in Huntington Station and ended up as Vice President for DK Publishing/PRH, a global family reference publisher based in London. Right now you can find her running Tuesday Magic Marketing, a full-service marketing and publicity firm.
And when she's not writing or working, Rachel likes to keep busy. She's active in politics, activism, cat wrangling, Zumba, knitting, indie-bookstore shopping, notebook buying, and closet cleaning--especially when under a deadline. She has lived in Astoria, Long Island, Buffalo, and Providence, but right now she's living in the lovely town of Madison, NJ with her husband, Matthew. They had a Star Wars/Back to the Future wedding--photos to prove it, here.
"Books are uniquely portable magic." --Stephen King, On Writing
